Introducing Countdown: A Simple Way to Track What Matters
Today I’m excited to share something I’ve been using for a while and finally decided to release: Countdown is now available on the App Store.
Why I Built Countdown
I often found myself trying to keep track of important dates such as birthdays, trips, deadlines, appointments—but most apps I tried felt overly complex or cluttered.
So I built something for myself: a simple, focused way to track the dates that actually matter. Over time, I kept coming back to it, which felt like a good signal. That’s when I decided to clean it up and release it.
What Countdown Does
Countdown is designed around clarity and ease of use. You can quickly create events, track what’s coming up or already passed, and see progress at a glance. Optional reminders help ensure nothing slips by.
There are no accounts, no unnecessary features—just a clean, straightforward experience.
Widgets That Keep It Visible
One of my favourite parts of Countdown is its widget support. You can see your next event directly on your Home Screen, pin a specific event, and choose styles and colours that fit.
It’s a small addition, but it makes a big difference in keeping important dates front of mind.
Built as an MVP
This is very much version 1. The goal was to ship something useful early, learn from real usage, and improve it over time.
There’s plenty I’d like to add more customization, better widgets, and potentially premium features—but the focus right now is keeping things simple and doing one thing well.
